Staff Reporter: Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has arrested Sahab Uddin, one of the ringleaders of the looting in the Sadapathar (White Stone) area of Bholaganj Quarry in Companiganj Upazila of Sylhet.
Based on a secret tip-off, an operation team of RAB-9, CPSC, Sylhet conducted an operation in Kumarpara area of Sylhet city on Saturday (September 13) at approximately 11:15 pm.
During the operation, the much-discussed former Upazila BNP president Sahab Uddin was arrested in a case filed by Companiganj Police Station.
BNP suspended the post of Companiganj Upazila BNP president Sahab Uddin on August 11 on charges of stone looting in the Sadapathar area.
There are 7 cases against Sahab Uddin in Companiganj and Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Stations.
The arrested person has been handed over to Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Station for further legal action.
