Staff Reporter : A joint operation by the Bangladesh Army, Rapid Action Battalion-RAB and the Sreemangal Upazila Administration has resulted in a Tk 30,000 fine for illegal hoarding of edible oil.
According to RAB-9, acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising RAB-9 CPC-2 (Moulvibazar), Army Camp Moulvibazar and the Sreemangal Upazila Administration conducted a operation in the Old Market area of Sreemangal Municipality from around 12:15 PM to 3:45 PM on Thursday (April 9).
During the drive, Tofayel Ahmed, owner of Tofayel Traders, was fined under Section 45 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act (2009) for illegally stockpiling 8,500 liters of edible oil.
