Staff Reporter: The Rapid Action Battalion-RAB-9 has recovered 42 illegal local and foreign firearms, along with a large quantity of ammunition and explosives, over the past one and a half years in four districts of the Sylhet Division and Brahmanbaria district under its jurisdiction.
Following August 5, 2024, RAB launched special operations nationwide to recover illegal firearms, explosives, bombs, cocktails and other weapons, alongside its ongoing crime suppression drives.
During these operations, up to February 11—the day before the 13th National Parliament Election RAB-9 recovered 42 local and foreign firearms, 104 rounds of ammunition, 6 magazines, 26,570 grams of explosives, 136 detonators, 1 sound grenade, 5 petrol bombs, 11 cocktails and a large quantity of airgun pellets, as well as 134 airguns, from various locations in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Brahmanbaria districts.
