Derai Correspondent : Out of the seven nomination papers submitted in the Sunamganj-2 (Dirai–Shalla) constituency for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, one has been cancelled.
During the scrutiny of nomination papers on Saturday (January 3) at the Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner’s office, the nomination paper of independent candidate Ritesh Deb was cancelled due to discrepancies in the signature of the proposer voter.
The nomination papers of the remaining candidates have been declared valid. They are BNP candidate Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and Advocate Tahir Raihan Chowdhury Pabel, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Advocate Shishir Monir, Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Islam candidate Maulana Shoaib Ahmed, Communist Party of Bangladesh-CPB) candidate Niranjan Das Khokon and Khelafat Majlis candidate Sakhawat Hossain.
