BGB’s Zakiganj Battalion seizes Indian liquor Tea leaves and Cows

Staff Reporter: Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB’s Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB) has seized Indian liquor, tea leaves and cows worth around Tk 12 lakh from different border areas of Sylhet.
Acting on a secret tip-off, a special expeditionary patrol team of Sonarkheore BOP under the jurisdiction of the Zakiganj Battalion conducted an operation in the Sonarkheore area of Kanaighat upazila on Thursday (January 8) at around 6:00 pm. During the operation, 231 bottles of Indian liquor were seized in an ownerless condition, with an estimated value of Tk 3,46,500.
Besides, from January 7 to January 9, separate expeditionary patrol teams of Suraighat, Lalakhal, Jaintapur and Dona BOP carried out operations in different border areas of Jaintapur and Kanaighat upazilas. During these operations, they seized 155 bottles of Indian liquor, 200 kg of tea leaves and seven cows, all found ownerless. The estimated value of these seized items is Tk 8,53,500.
According to 19 BGB, the total value of the seized goods in these operations amounts to Tk 12 lakh.
