Staff Reporter : Rapid Action Battalion-RAB)-9 has recovered nine air guns from Moulvibazar Sadar and Kamalganj upazilas.
Acting on a secret tip-off, a special team of RAB-9, CPC-2, Moulvibazar conducted a drive to recover illegal weapons on Sunday (January 25). At around 10:15 pm, five air guns were recovered in an abandoned condition from inside a bush in the Kalabagan area adjacent to Katabil Basti Road of Adampur Union in Kamalganj Upazila.
Later the same day, at approximately 11:45 pm, four more air guns were recovered in an abandoned state from inside a bush on the western bank of the Gopla River in Upper Kagabola Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila.
No individuals connected to the recovered air guns were found at the scene. RAB-9 is investigating the incident.
According to RAB sources, the air guns are suspected to have been used for sabotage.
The recovered weapons have been handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal action.
