Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md Mozibur Rahman said that one cannot move forward by leaving anyone behind. Now everyone is enjoying their rights. And it is possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In this way, we will establish Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous country.
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by the District administration, District Social Service Office and voluntary organizations on the occasion of 16th World Autism Awareness Day.
It was chaired by the Director of Divisional Social Service Office Mohammad Shahidul Islam. Awami League presidium member Syeda Zebunnesa Haque, City vice president Brave Freedom Fighter Abdul Khaliq, National humanitarian medalist Abdul Jabbar Jalil, president of Grameen Jankalyan Sangsad Jamil Chowdhury, journalist-columnist Aftab Chowdhury and former president of Sylhet Zilla Press Club Al Azad were special guests. Abdur Rafiq, Deputy Director of District Social Service Office, delivered the welcome speech. A documentary was presented by District Disability Officer Siddharth Shankar Roy. Suraiya Nasreen, head teacher of Sylhet Intellectually Handicapped School, spoke among others. Sanjida Sultana, a lecturer at the Regional Training Center of the Department of Social Services, was the moderator.
Chief guest Deputy Commissioner Md Mozibur Rahman said that more awareness is needed about disabled and autistic people. They should be taken forward by engaging with the environmental situation. Employment opportunities have already been created for them. They will not be left behind.
In the speech of the special guest, former Member of Parliament Syeda Zebunnesa Haque laid importance on the promotion of the Social Service Department’s service activities.
In the president’s speech, the Director of the Divisional Social Service Office, Mohammad Shahidul Islam said that the government is thinking about how to take care of disabled and autistic people in the absence of parents.
