A high-level meeting was held to modernize and accelerate cargo management at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.
The meeting took place in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon (May 31) and was chaired by Textile, Jute, Industry and Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muqtadir. Participants held detailed discussions on removing obstacles to cargo transportation in import-export operations and addressing challenges related to the transportation of export-oriented goods.
Special emphasis was placed on ensuring the speedy clearance of imported goods.
Among those present at the meeting were Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, Administrator of Sylhet City Corporation; Kaiser Sohel Ahmed, Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines; Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, Chairman of Civil Aviation and other senior officials.
The meeting also stressed the importance of enhancing cargo-handling capacity, improving infrastructure, and taking coordinated initiatives among relevant agencies to boost the country’s export trade. Press release
