Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mozibor Rahman said that the disabled are the wealth of the state. So the government is making them self-reliant by training and creating employment. The Prime Minister is very sincere in their welfare.
He also said that the present government is determined to bring the backward, neglected and disadvantaged people of the society into the mainstream of development. It is for this purpose that the disabled are given vocational training along with allowance, so that they can come forward.
He was speaking as the chief guest during the distribution of winter clothes by the district administration at Sheikhghat in Sylhet city on Wednesday afternoon.
Sylhet Social Service Office Deputy Director Nibas Ranjan Dash, Disability Affairs Officer Siddharth Shankar Roy, District Administration Assistant Commissioner Jareen Tasnim Tasin, Intellectually Handicapped and Autistic School Management Committee Member, Fellow teachers and parents were present.
In the event, winter clothes were distributed among 100 intellectually disabled and autistic students. Staff Reporter
