Two sisters died due to electrocution in Sultanshi village of Habiganj Sadar Upazila.
They are Shimla Akhtar (9), daughter of Abdul Latif of Sultanashi village and Rozina Akhtar (7), daughter of Siddique Ali of neighboring Adipasha village. Rozina Akhter’s cousin Shimla Akhter. Shimla Akhtar studied in class 3 and Rozina Akhtar in class 2 of the local government primary school.
UP member Ujjwal Mia quoted relatives as saying that two sisters were playing in the yard. At one point they climbed up the tin roof of the house and got entangled in the electric wires. They were immediately rescued and taken to the Habiganj District Sadar Modern Hospital, where the doctor on duty, Dr Mehedi Hasan, declared them dead.
