Staff Reporter : A book fair organized by the Sylhet chapter of the Publishers Council will begin on Sunday (10 May) at the Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar premises.
The fair was originally scheduled to be held at the same venue from 24 April to 2 May. However, after all preparations had been completed, Sylhet Metropolitan Police-SMP cancelled the permission citing deterioration in the law and order situation. Eventually, permission was granted again.
The fair, organized with the support of SMP, Sylhet City Corporation, and the District Council, will be inaugurated tomorrow at 3:00 pm by SCC Administrator Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury. The fair will remain open daily from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Organizers have requested everyone’s participation and cooperation.
