SCC and District Administration conducted operation

Sylhet City Corporation-SCC and Sylhet District Administration conducted a joint operation to clear illegal encroachment of various roads and footpaths in Sylhet city.
The operation was conducted from Saturday (September 13) morning. It was led by Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Alam and SCC Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rezai Rafin Sarkar. Former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Ariful Haque Chowdhury was also present at the time.
During the operation, mobile traders were removed from traditional Kean Bridge for the sake of the movement of the city residents.
All illegal establishments along various roads and footpaths, including the illegal establishment in front of Jamuna Market in South Surma, were immediately evicted.
In addition, the concerned parties were requested to immediately remove illegal business establishments and establishments from all roads and footpaths of the city on their own initiative. Otherwise, it was informed that a mobile court will be immediately conducted to ensure the smooth movement of the city residents.
Sylhet City Corporation Secretary Md Ashiq Noor, Chief Engineer (Acting) Md Ali Akbar, Chief Property Officer Bishwajit Deb and Chief Waste Management Officer Mohammad Eklim Abdin, along with relevant officials of the Sylhet City Corporation and the District administration, were present during the drive.
