Internationally renowned microbiologist and virologist Professor Dr Md Alimul Islam joined Sylhet Agricultural University-SAU as the seventh Vice Chancellor on October 20.
According to Section 10(1) of the Sylhet Agricultural University Act, 2006, Professor Dr Alimul Islam was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the Sylhet Agricultural University with the approval of the President and Chancellor.
Dr Alimul Islam obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and Ph D from the Veterinary Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University. He then did his post doctorate from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Nagasaki, Japan.
After joining, he requested everyone’s cooperation to make SAU a center of excellence. Press release
