Two people were killed and five people including women and children were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a CNG auto-rickshaw in Nabiganj, Habiganj.
The accident took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 10 at Fultali Bazar of Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
The deceased are Manik Mia, son of Abdus Sattar of Muraura village of Ghaznaipur union and Sohel Mia, son of Chanu Mia of Badshargaon village of Chunarughat upazila.
According to the police and local people, a private car going from Dhaka to Sylhet collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction as soon as it reached Phultali Bazar area. Seven people were seriously injured.
After receiving the news, Sherpur Highway Police, Fire Service and local residents rescued the injured and took them to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors on duty declared Manik Mia and Sohel Mia dead. Special Correspondent, Habiganj
