Staff Reporter: Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has arrested a life-sentenced convict in a murder case from Companiganj, Sylhet.
According to RAB, on August 2, 2011, a man was killed in an armed attack in the Shamasi Bridge area adjacent to Hydari Bazar in Companiganj upazila. The accused in the case, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, had been absconding since the incident.
Based on secret information, a joint team of RAB-9, CPSC, Sylhet and RAB-11, CPC-1, Narayanganj conducted a raid in the Kanchpur Nayabari area of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj at around 2:30 pm on Saturday (December 6). During the operation, they arrested the fugitive convict, Ali Hossain alias Ali (45), son of Syedul Islam of Purnachagram, Companiganj, Sylhet.
He has since been handed over to Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station for further legal action.
