Sylhet City Corporation’s newly elected Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury said, People elect public representatives to ensure their desired development. They wholeheartedly want their elected representatives to stand by them in good times or bad. Therefore, we who have been elected this time by the people’s vote will be by the people’s side as a symbol of dependence in happiness and sorrow as well as acceleration of development.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the reception organized in the afternoon of Friday, July 14 in Majortila area of the city in honor of the newly elected mayor of SCC, councilors of wards 31, 32, 34 and 35 and women councilors of reserved wards 34, 35 and 36.
Under the chairmanship of Imdadul Hossain Immani, Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury also said that the people of Sylhet city have been living their lives facing development suffering for the past 10 years. The project should be formulated and implemented keeping this in mind. All the elected public representatives should work unitedly with the conscious citizens to realize the dream of smart Sylhet of the city dwellers.
