Staff Reporter : On 30 May (Saturday) marks the 45th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder and martyred President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam.
On the occasion, a prayer gathering will be held after the Asr prayer at the courtyard of Hazrat Shahjalal Shrine mosque under the initiative of Sylhet District BNP.
After the prayer gathering, food will be distributed among destitute and homeless people.
In addition, marking the day, discussion meetings, prayer gatherings and distribution programmes of clothes, rice, lentils and various food items among underprivileged people will be organized in every upazila and municipality under the district, according to local convenience and realities.
Sylhet District BNP President, Sylhet City Corporation administrator Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, along with General Secretary, Member of Parliament Advocate Emran Ahmed Chowdhury, have requested leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies, as well as people from all walks of life, to attend the programmes on time.
