A preparatory meeting of the stall construction, decoration and publicity subcommittee was held to organize the 47th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair 2026 at the divisional level in Sylhet.
The meeting took place on Wednesday (May 6) at the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, chaired by Additional Divisional Commissioner Ashraful Rahman.
In his speech, the Additional Divisional Commissioner said that the science fair will be organized with the participation of students selected from district levels, which is an important initiative to encourage children and adolescents to engage in science.
He emphasized ensuring the active participation of teachers alongside students and highlighted the importance of strengthening communication among different educational institutions.
The chair also informed that students and teachers will attend the opening ceremony of the fair. On the second day, quiz competitions and seminars will be arranged.
He further provided necessary instructions to ensure overall security at the fair, maintain discipline and ensure that students wear school uniforms and carry ID cards.
Among others present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioners Masud Rana and Saida Parveen, Senior Assistant Commissioner Umme Salik Rumaiya, along with government officials from various departments and heads of different schools and colleges in the district. Press release
