He said this while talking to reporters after a closed-door meeting with presidents and general secretaries of District and City Awami League branches and subsidiary organizations and other responsible leaders at a hotel auditorium in Sylhet city on Friday, May 5 afternoon.
Bangladesh Awami League presidium member Syeda Zebunnesha Haque, Sylhet division in-charge organizing secretary Ahmed Hossain and Sylhet City Corporation election nominated mayoral candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury were present at this time.
After the meeting, Jahangir Kabir Nanak answered various questions of the journalists. In response to a question, he said, ‘Boat’ will definitely win in Sylhet City Corporation elections.
Regarding the participation of BNP in the elections, he said, they know that the people are not with them. Because people have not forgotten the memory of their misrule.
He said that the government has given thousands of rupees for the development of people in Sylhet City Corporation but the desired development has not been achieved. This is the misfortune of the people of Sylhet. But this time the ‘boat’ will win and surely Sylhet will be developed as Tilottama city.
He also said that Awami League is united in Sylhet.
Ahmed Hossain, the central organizing secretary of Awami League in charge of Sylhet division, said that Awami League leaders and workers from all over the country, including Sylhet, are united.
Mayoral candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury in SCC election once again urged the party leaders and activists to forget all differences and work unitedly for Bangabandhu, the Prime Minister and the ‘boat’, the symbol of freedom.
