Naba Pallab Project Awareness Meeting Held at Upazila Level in Juri

Juri Correspondent : A ‘Project Awareness’ meeting of the Naba Pallab Project was held in Juri, Moulvibazar, aiming to increase the climate resilience of vulnerable populations in the ecologically critical area of Hakaluki Haor and to protect and restore nature.
On Thursday (November 27), the day-long meeting, organized by the Center for Natural Resource Studies-CNRS, took place at the Juri Upazila Parishad meeting room. Juri Upazila Executive Officer Bablu Sutradhar attended the event as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Naba Pallab Project Regional Program Coordinator Md Rafiqul Islam, while CNRS Field Manager Mostafa Haider Milon delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the project activities.
Among others present were Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Mahmudul Alam Khan, Fisheries Officer Moniruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Juri Police Station Morshedul Alam Bhuiyan, CARE Bangladesh Regional Manager (Climate Resilience Livelihoods) Md Joynal Abedin, CNRS Field Monitoring Lead Md Ashraful Islam, IDE Market Development Officer Md Enayet Kabir, DSK WASH Advisor Md Mozammel Haque, West Juri Union Parishad Acting Chairman Sirajul Islam, Jayafornagar Union Parishad Acting Chairman Azad Mia, Juri Press Club General Secretary Saiful Islam Sumon, Moktadir Girls’ High School Headmaster Ishaq Ali, Upazila Family Planning Officer Md Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury, Education Officer Dilipmoy Das Chowdhury, Social Service Officer Abdullah Al Mahmud Chowdhury, Youth Development Officer Md Alamgir Hossain, Rural Development Officer Tapan Chandra Sutradhar, Cooperative Officer Sudhindra Chandra Deb, Juri Fire Service Officer S M Shamim, Acting Statistics Officer Shamimul Haque, Women’s Affairs Officer Sujauddaula, Belagaon-Sonapur VCG Representative Kamruzzaman Kamrul, representatives of the Naba Pallab Project, consortium associate organizations, and various departmental officials.
It is to be noted that in implementing the Naba Pallab Project—aimed at increasing climate resilience and restoring nature in the Hakaluki Haor area—CARE Bangladesh will work as an associate organization alongside CNRS, CordAid, IDE, DSK, C3ER, Friendship, HI, and Practical Action.
The project will be implemented in four unions of Juri Upazila: East Juri, West Juri, Jayafornagar, and Sagarnal, as well as in the Hakaluki Haor area.
