Indian Assistant High Commissioner Visits a Joint Family in Juri

Saiful Islam Sumon, Juri : The Indian Assistant High Commissioner in Sylhet, Aniruddha Das, visited a joint family in Binandapur village of Juri upazila in Moulvibazar.
He arrived in Juri on Wednesday afternoon (March 4). Maintaining the tradition of their ancestors, members of the family—led by Sohagi Rani Pal and Palash Rudra Pal—welcomed him on behalf of the joint family that has been living together for nearly eight decades.
Among those present were Rajesh Bhatia, Second Secretary (Press, Information, Culture and Education) of the Indian Assistant High Commission in Sylhet, Kajal Mahmud, General Manager of Dhamai Tea Garden and Ashok Ranjan Pal, Chairman of a NGO.
Indian Assistant High Commissioner Aniruddha Das spoke with members of the joint family and listened to their family history and traditions.
Aniruddha Das said that although joint families were once very common, they are rarely seen nowadays. However, this family has managed to preserve the tradition even in this era. Food is cooked in one pot for everyone and they have been living together harmoniously for a long time. Many people will be inspired by seeing this.
He commented that this example will inspire not only people in Bangladesh but also people in India.
