Staff Reporter : The three-day divisional-level 47th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2026 will begin at the Mohammad Ali Gymnasium of the district stadium in Sylhet.
The inauguration ceremony will be held tomorrow, Friday (May 15) at 3:00 pm. The chief guest will be Commerce, Industries, Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir. The event will be presided over by Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Md Mashiur Rahman. Special guests will include Sylhet City Corporation Administrator Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Sylhet Range DIG Dr Md Jilluur Rahman, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Alam.
According to the schedule, science project presentations will be held on May 15 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. On May 16, a science quiz competition will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a science seminar titled ‘Science and Technology in Building an Innovation-Driven Bangladesh’ from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. On May 17, a science olympiad will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and the closing and prize distribution ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm.
