Staff Reporter: The Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has recovered a foreign-made airgun along with 970 bullets from the Lakkatura Tea Garden in Sylhet.
Based on a secret tip-off, a special weapons recovery operation was conducted by a team of RAB-9, CPSC, Sylhet on Thursday (January 29) at around 11:15 pm in the Lakkatura Tea Garden area of the city.
During the operation, the airgun and bullets were recovered in an abandoned condition from a spot adjacent to the cemetery behind the Golf Club.
However, no person linked to the recovered airgun and bullets was found at the scene. RAB-9 is conducting further investigation in this regard.
According to RAB sources, the recovered foreign-made airgun and bullets were suspected to have been intended for sabotage activities.
The recovered airgun and bullets have been handed over to the Airport Police Station under Sylhet Metropolitan Police-SMP for further legal action.
