In Sylhet Division, Sylhet District Press Club, the largest organization of pro-liberation journalists, has announced the list of draft candidates for the 2023-2024 executive commitee election.
The election comission published this list after scrutiny on Monday night.
Before this, the candidates submitted their nomination papers till 8 pm. However, no one’s nomination was cancelled.
This is the first time a woman is contesting for the post of president in Sylhet district press club elections.
Liaquat Shah Faridi and Hasina Begum Chowdhury are the president candidates on the list.
Other candidates are Vice President (First) : Suton Singh, Moniruzzaman Monir and Mukit Rahmani.
Vice President (Second) : Sajal Ghosh and Syeed Chowdhury Tipu.
General Secretary : Debashish Debu and Shah Didar Alam Noble.
Joint general secretary : Abdul Qayyum and Ravi Kiran Singh (Myslam Rajesh).
Treasurer : Ananda Sarkar and Sadikur Rahman Saki.
Sports and culture secretary : Yusuf Ali and Mithu Das Joy.
Publicity and Publication secretary : Md Ekram Hossain and Sultan Sumon.
Information and technology secretary : Md Enamul Kabir and Raihan Uddin.
Library secretary : Md Ali Akbar Chowdhury (Kohinoor) and Md Abu Bakkar.
Office secretary : Md Abdul Ahad and Moniruzzaman Roni.
Executive member : Md Anwar Hossain, A H Arif, Md Saiful Alam Apu, Mahmud Hossain, Ranjit Kumar Singh and Md Shaheen Ahmed. Staff Reporter
