Department of Environment conducted a mobile court against banned polythene in Madhabpur upazila headquarter of Habiganj and collected a fine of Tk 6 lakh from 11 shops.
On Monday, Director of Environment Directorate, Sylhet Divisional Office and Executive Magistrate Mohammed Emran Hossain conducted the mobile court.
At this time, approximately 1.2 metric tons of prohibited polythene was seized and collected a fine of Tk 80 thousand from Ratan Roy store, Tk 35 thousand from Jamal store, Tk 30 thousand from Ganeshwar Bhandar, Tk 35 thousand from Shyama store, Tk 50 thousand from Dayamaya store, Tk 1 lakh from Krishna Chandra Paul, Tk 30 thousand from Chhutu Mia store, Tk 1 lakh from Swaroop Bhandar, Tk 45 thousand from Harilal store, Tk 50 thousand from M/s Kajal Chakraborty and Tk 50 thousand from Bhai Bhai store.
