The first batch of classes in the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Science and Animal Medicine has started in the academic year 2021-22 at Habiganj Agricultural University-HAU
Through this, the formal journey of another higher education institution and the second agricultural university in Sylhet division began.
On Wednesday, May 10 at 10 am, Vice Chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University Professor Dr Md Abdul Baset welcomed the students to the temporary campus set up in Vadai area of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. Teachers, officials and parents of students were also present on the occasion. The authorities welcomed the new students with flowers.
At this time, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdul Baset told the students, ‘Although we have many limitations, we are trying to ensure various facilities for the students. Activities have already started in two buildings on a temporary basis. We have created the university website. Apps developed for students. Through this, students and their parents can do all the work paperless. All academic tasks including payment of semester fees and filling of examination forms can also be done through the use of apps. In addition, we have created smart classrooms by installing interactive displays, which is one of the public universities in Bangladesh. The establishment of Institute of Precision Agriculture in Habiganj Agricultural University has already been approved for the purpose of building Smart Bangladesh, the dream of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We want to advance this university with everyone’s cooperation.’
The HAU authorities have confirmed that the orientation of the students will be held this month. Orientation is being planned with the Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Education, local public representatives and Chairman of the University Grants Commission. Special Correspondent
