Four people were killed and half a hundred passengers were injured when a non-stop bus from Sylhet to Habiganj lost control at a place called Baganbari in Bahubal of Habiganj on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
Shaistaganj Highway Police Station, Bahubal Police Station and Habiganj Fire Service personnel reached the spot and started rescue operations.
The accident happened at 7 pm on Thursday. The injured were rescued and sent to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex and Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
The injured said that a non-stop bus from Sylhet left for Habiganj with passengers. On the way, when a truck from Dhaka to Sylhet reached Baganbari area of Bahubal to overtake the bus, the bus lost control and overturned. 4 people were killed on the spot. Among them, 3 people have been identified. They are Nazim Uddin Tarek son of Abdul Hasim of Chapainawabganj, Jamal Mia of Amtali of Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj and Kamran Mia of Kandigaon village of Nabiganj upazila.
Bahubal police station OC-Investigator Prajit Kumar Dey confirmed the matter.
Deputy Assistant Director of Habiganj Fire Service Station Sakaria Haider said that after receiving information they went to the spot and recovered 4 bodies. Habiganj Correspondent
