Baul Abdul Hamid, the creator of this song, popularly known as ‘’Harin’s Song’’, which topped the regional level for many years is no more.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in the ICU of Jalalabad Ragib Rabey Medical College Hospital in Sylhet at 12:40 pm on Thursday. He was 75 years old. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. Today, Friday, April 21, he will be buried in the Dargah graveyard after Namaz-e-Zanaza at the Hazrat Shahajlal (R) Dargah mosque.
His wife Jahanara Khanam Milan is a former councilor for reserved seat in Sylhet City Corporation. Elder daughter Subarna Hamid and son-in-law Sadikur Rahman Saki are journalists. Both are working with the channel.
Baul Abdul Hamid had his first stroke in 2008. After that he was affected by this disease three more times and at one point he lost his ability to speak.
He was first taken to Osmani Medical College Hospital when his condition deteriorated around midnight on Wednesday; But due to the shortage of ICU beds there, taken to Ragib Rabeya Medical College hospital at night. Staff Reporter
