Jalalabad Liver Trust and The Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organized an awareness workshop about liver disease in collaboration with Roche Pharmaceuticals Bangladesh Limited.
This workshop was organized on Tuesday morning at the Sylhet Chamber conference hall to make the members of the organization aware about liver disease.
Under the chairmanship of SCCI president Tahmin Ahmed, the chief guest and key-note speaker was renowned liver disease specialist of Bangladesh, Head of Interventional Hepatology Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Jalalabad Liver Trust Chairman Professor Dr Mamun Al Mahtab (Swapnil). Dr Mohammad Afroz Jalil, Country Manager of Roche Pharmaceuticals Bangladesh Limited was the special guest.
The chief guest at the workshop, Professor Dr Mamun Al Mahtab (Swapnil), said that awareness is essential to survive various liver diseases. Presence of Hepatitis-B virus in the body for a long time, excess fat, excess alcohol consumption etc. are the main causes of liver disease.
He informed about various types of liver disease and its treatment.
The chief guest discussed his various researches on liver diseases and the stem cell therapy developed jointly with his collaborators.
He answered various questions from the members of the Chamber present on Liver Diseases.
