Staff Reporter : The Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has arrested a fugitive accused in the murder case of Mita Begum of Derai Police Station area in Sunamganj.
According to RAB-9, Mita Begum of Bagbari (Kandahati) area in Derai Upazila was seriously injured on May 29 following a dispute over a financial claim. She died the following midnight while undergoing treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Her mother subsequently filed a murder case with Derai Police Station.
Following the case, RAB-9 launched a shadow investigation and intensified intelligence operations to bring the accused to justice.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint operational team of RAB-9 Headquarters Company, Sylhet and CPC-3, Sunamganj, conducted a raid at around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday (June 3) in the Dholakhal Shimultala area of Companiganj Upazila, Sylhet.
During the operation, they arrested Khadija Begum (23), wife of Titu Mia, a resident of Notun Bagbari, Derai, Sunamganj, who was listed as the fourth accused in the case FIR and had been absconding.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal proceedings.
