Staff Reporter : The Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has arrested two drug dealers along with 29 kilograms of cannabis in Shayestaganj upazila of Habiganj.
Acting on a tip-off, an operational team from RAB-9, CPC-3, Shayestaganj Camp, Habiganj conducted a raid at the house of Javed Mia in the Kadamtali area of Shayestaganj Union around 10:00 pm on Sunday (24 May).
During the raid, two individuals attempted to flee but were detained by RAB members. Later, based on their information, the cannabis was recovered and they were arrested.
The arrested individuals were identified as Md Kalam Mia (60), son of the late Alfu Mia and Anowara Anna (24), wife of Javed Mia, both residents of Chunarughat upazila of the district.
For further legal action, a case has been filed and the accused, along with the seized evidence, have been handed over to Shayestaganj Police Station.
