Staff Reporter : Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Sylhet on May 2.
This will be his first visit to Sylhet since forming the government. On the day, he will inaugurate several development projects aimed at fulfilling the BNP’s electoral commitments and public expectations.
According to the Prime Minister’s itinerary, he will arrive at Osmani International Airport at 10:00 am. At 10:30 am, he will visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).
At 11:00 am, he will lay the foundation stone of a Sylhet City Corporation project to alleviate waterlogging in the metropolitan area at Chandnighat, adjacent to the Sylhet Circuit House and will also attend a civic gathering there.
At 11:45 am, he will travel to Masukganj in Kandigaon Union of Sylhet Sadar Upazila. At 12:00 pm, he will inaugurate the Basia River excavation program.
At 3:00 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate ‘Notun Kuri Sports-2026’ organized at Sylhet District Stadium by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to scout young sports talent.
At 5:00 pm, he will attend a meeting of district and metropolitan BNP at the District Shilpakala Academy.
At 7:00 pm, the Prime Minister will depart for Dhaka by air.
