Staff Reporter: Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB, Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB), conducted drives in different border areas of Sylhet and seized Indian cumin and buffalo worth Almost Tk 7 million.
Acting on a tip-off, on Monday (April 20), a special patrol team from the battalion headquarters conducted an operation at an abandoned warehouse in Rainpur area of Kanaighat upazila.
During the operation, 4,950 kg of Indian cumin was seized in an ownerless condition, with an estimated value of Tk 5.94 million.
On the same day, another patrol team from Guabari BOP under 19 BGB conducted an operation in a border area of Jaintiapur upazila and seized three Indian buffalo found without any owner. The estimated value of the seized buffalo is Tk 1.05 million.
The total estimated value of the seized goods from the two operations is Tk 6.99 million.
