Staff Reporter : One person has been arrested with 2,600 yaba pills in a operation conducted by Bishwanath Police Station in Sylhet.
On Sunday (April 19) at around 7:15 AM, a team from the police station set up a checkpoint on the Sylhet–Sunamganj regional highway at Golchand Bazar in Lamakazi Union of the upozilla.
During the operation, they arrested Faruk Ahmed (40, son of late Nur Uddin, a resident of Paschim Loharmahal, Khalachhara, Zakiganj, Sylhet) along with the large quantity of drugs.
In this connection, a case has been filed at Bishwanath Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act {Case No. 14/51, dated 19/04/2026, Section 36(1) of 2018)}.
