Staff Reporter: In Khadimnagar Union of Sylhet Sadar Upazila, two individuals have been fined and made to sign bonds for illegally cutting soil from hills and agricultural land.
On Friday (April 3), the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sylhet Metropolitan Revenue Circle conducted a mobile court operation in the area adjacent to Hatura Central Jame Mosque in Hatura village of the union. During the operation, two individuals were caught red-handed while illegally excavating soil from hills and farmland.
Later, as they violated Sections 4(c) and 4(cha) of the Sand Quarry and Soil Management Act, 2010 and admitted their offence, they were fined Tk 100,000 under Section 15 of the same law.
