Everyone Must Change Their Attitude Toward People with Disabilities : Qayyum

Sylhet City Corporation-SCC Administrator Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury said that people with disabilities often face neglect in society. Even when they are born into wealthy families, they sometimes experience disregard within their own households. Therefore, everyone must change their outlook and attitude toward persons with disabilities.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an Eid clothing distribution program held at the office of Green Disabled Foundation-GDF in Zindabazar of the city on Wednesday afternoon (March 11).
Praising the activities of the Green Disabled Foundation for visually impaired people, the SCC administrator said the initiative is highly commendable.
He added that Sylhet City Corporation and the Jalalabad Association based in Dhaka will continue to provide overall support to such humanitarian activities.
The event was presided over by GDF President Ramesh Dutta and moderated by Executive Director Md Bayezid Khan. Special guests included Associate Professor Dr Zahirul Islam Achinpuri of the National Institute of Ophthalmology, Central Council Member of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Shamsul Basit Shero, President of Rahmania Disabled Foundation Ataur Rahman, GDF Adviser Miftahur Hossain Sweet, President of Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lubana Yasmin Shampa and Convener of NCP Sylhet Metropolitan Branch Advocate Md. Abdur Rahman Afzal.
At the event, Eid clothes were distributed among the students of the GDF-DKCF School for the Visually Impaired, run by GDF.
Earlier, the SCC administrator visited and inspected various activities of the school for visually impaired students. Press release
