Government committed to fulfilling people’s expectations: Minister Arif

Minister for Labour and Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, “The government is committed to fulfilling the expectations of the people. With the hope and trust that the people placed in us by bringing us to state power, the government will work tirelessly every day over the next five years to meet those expectations.”
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an iftar and reception hosted by the Sylhet District Bar Association on Thursday (26 February).
The minister said the government is determined to ensure hassle-free services for expatriate passengers.
He added that a meeting with top ministry officials will be held next Sunday to review existing problems at airports. Concerned officials will conduct on-site inspections to identify the issues and take prompt and effective measures to resolve them.
He further said that not only in Sylhet but at all airports across the country, maximum facilities for expatriate passengers will be ensured gradually.
Referring to the Sylhet–Manchester route, Ariful Haque Chowdhury said the flight has not been cancelled; rather, the number of flights was temporarily reduced due to the transportation of Hajj pilgrims.
He expressed hope that flights on the Manchester route will fully resume once the Hajj operations are completed.
The iftar and reception, chaired by Sylhet District Bar Association President Ghulam Yahya Chowdhury Suhel, was attended by Member of Parliament Emran Ahmed Chowdhury as special guest. Officials from various government departments, bar leaders and media personnel were also present. PID Sylhet
