Staff Reporter: The Rapid Action Battalion-RAB has recovered a foreign revolver, detonators, explosive materials and cartridges from Companiganj upazila of Sylhet.
Based on secret information, an operational team of RAB-9, Sadar Company, Sylhet conducted a special operation around an abandoned building in the Kalabari area of Purba Islampur Union of the upazila at around 1:30 am on Sunday (February 1).
During the operation, the team recovered one 9mm foreign revolver, three non-electric detonators, one safety fuse, three power gel explosives and five shotgun cartridges abandoned inside a shopping bag. However, no individual connected to the recovered items was found at the scene.
RAB officials believe the recovered items could have been used for sabotage. Legal proceedings are underway, and the seized items have been handed over to Companiganj Police Station for further action. The investigation is ongoing.
