Typhoid vaccination campaign inaugurated meeting in Sylhet

An inauguration meeting was held in Sylhet to make the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025 a success.
On Wednesday (October 8), Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Anisur Rahman was the chief guest at the district-level typhoid vaccination campaign at the Civil Surgeon’s Office conference room in the Health Building. Civil Surgeon Dr Md Nasir Uddin presided over the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Divisional Director said that through the typhoid vaccination campaign, all children aged 9 months to 15 years of all groups, regardless of profession, religion or caste, will be brought under the ambit of vaccination.
He said that in addition to the permanent vaccination center, students up to class 9 will be vaccinated free of charge in every educational institution.
He emphasized on timely registration to make the vaccination campaign a success.
Medical Officer Dr Swapnil Sourav Roy presented a power point on typhoid vaccination at the meeting.
The event was also addressed by Deputy Director (Primary Health Care) Abu Hena Mohammad Raihanuzzaman Sarkar of the Directorate General of Health Services, Deputy Director (Hospitals) Syed Abu Ahmed Shafi, Deputy Director (EPI) Mohammad Shahriar Sajjad, Sylhet Police Superintendent Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Padmasan Singha and Sylhet City Corporation Chief Health Officer Dr Md Zahidul Islam.
It is worth noting that under the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025, a target of vaccinating about 50 million children aged 9 months to 15 years across the country has been set. Of this, a target of vaccinating about 3 million children in Sylhet division and 1 million 16 thousand children in Sylhet district has been set.
