Staff Reporter: Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB’s Zakiganj Battalion (19 BGB) conducted a special raid and seized illegal goods including Indian cattle and buffalo from various border areas of Jaintapur, Kanaighat and Zakiganj upazilas.
On Monday (September 1) night, based on secret information, a special expeditionary patrol team of Jaintapur BOP conducted a raid in the Ghilatail area of Jaintapur upazila.
At that time, 8 Indian buffaloes were seized. The value of the seized buffaloes is 8 lakh taka.
Also, on Tuesday (September 2/18 Bhadra), separate patrol teams of Guabari, Suraighat and Laxmibazar BOP conducted raids in various border areas of Jaintapur, Kanaighat and Zakiganj upazilas and were able to seize 5 Indian cows, 7,280 pieces of leaf bidis and 75 kg of cumin seeds without owners. The value of the seized cows and goods is 8 lakh 39 thousand taka.
The total value of the goods seized through these raids is 16 lakh 39 thousand taka, according to 19 BGB.
