Staff Reporter : Three candidates submitted their nomination papers to compete in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections.
Awami League candidate for Sylhet-1 Constituency on Wednesday, November 29 at around 12 noon Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen was the first to submit nomination papers.
Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Russell Hasan accepted the nomination.
The Foreign Minister later submitted the nomination papers to the Assistant Returning Officer of Sadar Upazila.
Bangladesh Nationalist Forum-BNF candidate Faizul Haque also submitted nomination papers to the Returning Officer.
Besides, independent candidate in Sylhet-2 constituency, Mayor Muhibur Rahman of Biswanath Municipality submitted nomination papers to Assistant Returning Officer of Biswanath Upazila. However, he did not leave the post of municipal mayor.
Till yesterday, 55 nomination papers have been distributed in 6 constituencies of Sylhet.
