Staff Reporter : 7 Armed Police Battalion-APBN Sylhet has achieved success in fish farming in implementation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s instructions not to let any arable land fall.
According to the instructions of the Prime Minister, Additional DIG Khandkar Faridul Islam, the CO of 7 APBN Sylhet, took the initiative to cultivate fish in the 5 ponds that had fallen so far at the headquarters of 7 APBN Sylhet at Lalabazar. In view of this, about 30 species of fish are cultivated both locally and abroad. Among them are almost extinct fishes.
On Thursday, November 2, under the leadership of Additional DIG Khandkar Faridul Islam, various species of fish were caught in these ponds in a festive atmosphere throughout the day.
Fishes caught include Chital, Rui, Katla, Mrigel, Kalboush, Pangash, Karfu, Boro Puti, Shoal, Taki, Koi, Shing, Magur, Puti, Tengra and Mala.
At this time, the CO of 7 APBN Sylhet encouraged all the officers and forces to cultivate fish in their own house ponds and to grow vegetables and fruits in their house yards or fallow areas as per the instructions of the Prime Minister, as this will provide pure fresh fish and vegetables as well as financial savings.
