Newly elected Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury said that Sylhet needs cooperation from all quarters to move forward. People in the field of culture are always at the forefront of any change. He wants to bring positive change in all aspects of Sylhet. In this case too, cultural workers have to play a leading role.
He also said that the role of radio as a mass media is paramount in bringing about positive change. Bangladesh Betar Sylhet is playing a commendable role in the development of regional art and culture. More contributions should be made for the changing Sylhet of the future.
The mayor said that Sylhet’s folk culture is very rich. It has reputation as well as popularity in the outside world as well. There is a need to explore cultural talent at the grassroots level. Bangladesh Betar has to take this responsibility.

At this time, regional director of Sylhet Betar, other officials, persons and workers related to the program informed the mayor about the various problems and possibilities of the center.
Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury listened to everyone’s speech very attentively and assured to solve the issues through discussion with the concerned authorities.
