Bangladesh Awami League nominated mayoral candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury has submitted his nomination papers in the upcoming 4th election of Sylhet City Corporation.
On Tuesday, May 23 at noon, he submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer at the district election office in Mendibagh area of the city.
Speaking to the media later, Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury said that he has become a candidate for the post of mayor with a vow to serve the people of the city. His leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nominated him.
Awami League mayoral candidate said, ‘I do politics for the people-I do politics for human service. Human service is my life vow. Therefore, I strongly believe that the people of all levels of Sylhet city will give me the opportunity to work by voting.’
Awami League presidium member Syeda Zebunnesa Haque, Central Organizing Secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, City President Bir Muktijoddha Masuk Uddin Ahmad, District Acting President Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, City General Secretary Professor Md Zakir Hossain, District General Secretary, Zilla Parishad Chairman Advocate Nasir Uddin Khan and Subrata Purkayastha, Central Vice President of the Volunteer League were present at this time.
