Holy Eid-ul-Fitr is today Saturday, April 22. After a month of strict fasting, Muslims of the country will celebrate one of the main religious festivals of Islam. Reinvigorate the spirit of equality. The song of mutual compassion will be sung by voice. They will also take oath to build a society without exploitation and discrimination by standing in a row and offering prayers.
The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr in Sylhet will be held at the historical Shahi Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am. All preparations in this regard have been completed. At least 50,000 Muslims including Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and Awami League mayoral candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury in the upcoming SCC elections are expected to offer prayers here.
However, if it rains, arrangements have been made for Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in various mosques.
