For the post of Mayor in Sylhet City Corporation elections Five people of Awami League bought party nomination papers on the first day to compete.
Four of these five people are City Awami League Vice President Asad Uddin Ahmad, General Secretary Professor Md Zakir Hossain, Joint General Secretary SCC Councilor Azadur Rahman Azad and Organizing Secretary Dr Arman Ahmed Shiplu.
Besides, UK Awami League’s Joint General Secretary Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury also bought the party’s nomination papers for the post of mayor.
Sports personalities, established businessmen at home and abroad, General Secretary of Sylhet District Sports Association Mahi Uddin Ahmad Salim and four other members of the party can buy nomination papers of Awami League any day within the stipulated time.
Party nomination aspirants for the post of Mayor personally or through their representatives bought nomination papers from the party Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan at the Dhanmondi political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Sunday, April 9. Staff reporter
