Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Sylhet Md Mozibor Rahman said that regular market supervision should be continued along with the operation of mobile courts to control commodity prices during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said this while addressing the monthly meeting of the District Law and Order Committee on Sunday, April 9.
Deputy Commissioner said that on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, people at home should be able to travel smoothly. He requested special vigilance from BRTA, Highway Police and Traffic Police to continue vigilance against passenger harassment.
Besides, he requested to increase the vigilance of tourist police along with the law and order forces so that the tourists can travel freely in the tourist spots-especially in Bholaganj, Jaflong and Bichnakandi.
Deputy Commissioner also requested the Upazila Nirbahi officers to conduct regular task force operations to prevent drug and smuggling at the border.
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Captain, 19 and CO, 48 BGB, SMP DC (North) Md Azbahar Ali Sheikh, Upazila Parishad Chairmen, Upazila Executive Officers, officials of other departments of the district and Sylhet District Press Club President Hasina Begum Chowdhury and other members were present in the meeting under the direction of Additional District Magistrate Imrul Hasan.
