Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md Mozibor Rahman said, the new generation should be told how the country became independent, what is the status of independence and what would have happened to the Bengali nation if independence did not come.
He said this in the president’s speech at the Preparatory meeting of the Great Victory Day celebration organized by the district administration at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday afternoon.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the future descendants should also be informed that the Bengali nation stands tall in the world because Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said, Bangladesh is now in the list of developing countries. This has been made possible by ongoing political stability, government sincerity and planned programmes. Earlier this plan was not accepted.
