A master plan is being adopted for the development of Sylhet’s tourism sector. This is being discussed with the concerned parties. Besides, the much anticipated tourism map has already been finalized. It will be published very soon, so that tourists can easily get an idea about the tourist areas.
Deputy Commissioner Md Mozibor Rahman gave this information in the president’s speech at the ‘Sylhet district tourism development meeting’ organized by the district administration on Thursday afternoon.
He said that for the development of tourism, tourist areas should be made more attractive and the quality of services for tourists should be improved. Public awareness should be increased. Apart from tourist police, a large number of trained volunteers will also be employed for security.
Highlighting several steps taken for the development of tourism in Sylhet, the Deputy Commissioner said that with the adoption and proper implementation of the master plan, it will be possible to protect the environment and improve the quality of life of the people.
This meeting was organized in the conference room of Sylhet district administration. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Toushif Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.
