Sylhet Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Mofiz Uddin Ahmmed PPM said that community policing has not only re-established and strengthened the friendly relationship of the police force with the people. As a result, it has become easy to establish peace and order in the society. Many problems have already been resolved which would have destroyed many families in the wake of unrest.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Sylhet District Police on Saturday afternoon on the occasion of Community Policing Day on the theme of ‘Community Police’s motto, peace and order everywhere’.
District Superintendent of Police Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun presided over the meeting held at Shaheed SP M Shamsul Haque Auditorium in District Police Lines. Special guests were Community Policing District Committee Convener Freedom Fighter Masuk Uddin Ahmad, RRF Commandant (SP) Humayun Kabir, Additional District Magistrate Imrul Hasan, Freedom Fighter Bhavatosh Roy Burman Rana, Sylhet District Press Club President Al Azad, Senior Journalist Iqbal Siddiqui, Journalist-Writer Aftab Chowdhury, Mayor of Golapganj Municipality Aminul Islam Rabel, Gowaighat Government College Principal Fazlul Haque, District President of National Imam Association Mawlana Mohammad Ehsan Uddin and Acting President of District Puja Celebration Parishad Freedom Fighter Gopika Ranjan Purkayastha. Chief guest DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmmed said that the speech that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave at Rajarbagh Police Lines after his return home made it clear how Bangladesh Police will be.
He mentioned that Bangladesh Police is now being managed in the light of Bangabandhu’s guidelines.
Highlighting the importance and duty of community policing, the DIG said, good people should be involved in this work.
